Brook End is a four-acre family smallholding in Compton Dundon, near Street and Glastonbury in Somerset. It is designed and managed on permaculture ethics and agroecological principles. Read about the family and the history of the site here.
Brook End is an accredited LAND Centre (Learning and Network Demonstration) with the Permaculture Association GB.
The land is diverse with an old orchard, woodland, stream and pond, as well as a 2-acre field. There are 7 greenhouses and a polytunnel as well as intensive vegetable and herb gardens. We grow and sell produce, including salad, herbs and vegetables. We grow without farmed animal inputs, applying the principles of agroecology to produce abundant produce with minimum inputs and maximum biodiversity.
We are an Education Centre for Feed Avalon; a local co-operative dedicated to changing the food system that residents of Brook End started. We host courses and trainings in permaculture, agroecology, herbalism & more.
Our goal is to support people to reconnect to the land, practically and spiritually. Please find all the information you need on our website & email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any enquiries.
